BONED is a character-driven Dramedy set in LA against the backdrop of two completely different worlds; the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and the underbelly of the dog rescue world.

When Hollywood PR powerhouse, Tessa Barton, hits a veteran’s service dog in a crosswalk while texting behind the wheel, a video of her fleeing the scene goes viral. Within hours, she becomes the most hated woman in America, launching Tessa into her very own public relations nightmare. Sentenced to community service at an animal rescue organization, she’s shunned by every group in town until Billy Nordic, the rugged hotheaded owner of a struggling dog rescue, seizes the opportunity to cash in on her misery. Tessa reluctantly hands over a large donation to Billy, but is horrified when she finds herself catapulted into the canine loving, womanizing, vigilante’s world. After much growling and baring of teeth, this fearless Alpha and self-involved bitch, ultimately discover they’re the only ones who can rescue each other.

Steve is the co-founder of START Rescue: STARTrescue.org, a nonprofit transport and spay/neuter group. Since its inception in 2011, START has transported over 15,000 dogs/cats from high-kill California shelters to loving “forever homes” in the Pacific Northwest and funded over 11,000 spay/neuter surgeries for low-income households. Steve is excited to be working with Sylva and Alison on BONED, which has been a bloody long slog . . . but-well-worth-it!
